Privacy Policy

Seoul Glow List (“we”, “kwak”) helps travellers find and book Seoul skin clinics. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. It covers both this website and the Seoul Glow List iPhone app. By using either, or by booking through us, you agree to this policy.
Who we are
Seoul Glow List is run by kwak, an independent curator. The easiest way to reach us about your data is to message us on WhatsApp.
What we collect
Information you give us.When you make a booking or ask for a consultation, we collect your name, email address, date of birth, WhatsApp number, the clinic and treatments you're interested in, your preferred dates and times, your preferred language, and anything you tell us in your messages.
Photographs of your face, in the app. The app offers an optional face reading. If you use it, you take three guided photographs of your face and they are sent for analysis. We do not store them. They are held in memory for as long as the analysis takes, passed to the model described below, and discarded — they are not written to our database, not kept on our servers, and not attached to your account. The written reading is kept on your own phone until you clear it. The face reading is entirely optional and every other part of the app works without it.
Photographs you attach to a booking. If you add a photograph of the area you are asking about, it goes to us and to the clinic you are booking so they can answer before you fly.
Your account, in the app. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email address from them. Signing in is optional; bookings can be made without an account. You can delete your account, and everything on it, from inside the app under Settings.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage data (such as pages viewed and device/browser type). If you arrive from one of our ads, we record the ad source so we know where an enquiry came from. We do not track you across other websites beyond what the advertising tools below do.
How we use it
- To arrange and confirm your clinic appointment and communicate with you, mostly over WhatsApp and email.
- To pass your booking details to the Seoul clinic you choose so they can schedule you.
- To provide cashback where offered.
- To measure and improve our advertising — for example, which ads lead to enquiries.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
Cookies & advertising
We use Google Ads(the Google tag / gtag.js) to measure conversions — that is, to see when a visit turns into an enquiry. Google may set cookies for this. We also store your ad source in your browser's session storage so we can tell where an enquiry came from; it is cleared when you close the tab.
You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at Google Ads Settings and manage or block cookies in your browser settings.
Who we share it with
- The clinics you choose to book — so they can schedule and prepare for your visit.
- Service providers that operate the service for us: Google (advertising, clinic photographs and review data), Meta / WhatsApp (messaging), Supabase (secure database hosting, and the email and password if you sign in that way), Apple and Google (sign-in, if you use one of them), and Vercel (website and app hosting). They process data on our instructions.
- Anthropic, which runs the model that reads a face photograph, and only if you use the face reading. The photographs are sent to Anthropic's API in the United States for that analysis, which means they leave Korea. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. Nothing about a clinic, a price or a booking is sent with them.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your booking information only as long as needed to arrange your treatment and keep reasonable business records, and we delete it on request where we aren't required to keep it.
Face photographs are not kept at all. They exist for the seconds the analysis takes and are then gone. If you delete your account in the app, the bookings and readings held against it go with it.
What the app is not
The face reading is not a medical diagnosis and neither is anything else in the app. It is an estimate from photographs, affected by lighting, angle and makeup, and it is there to help you have a better conversation at the clinic. What is actually right for you is decided by a doctor at your consultation. We are not a medical provider; we help you find and book one.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to stop using it, by messaging us on WhatsApp. You can also delete your account, and everything held against it, from inside the app under Settings.
We are registered in Korea and handle your data there, so the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies to it and gives you these rights. If you are in Singapore you have them under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) as well, and depending on where you live your local law may give you similar ones.
Children
The site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
